Skills Acquisition Programs
Decapolis’s first two skills acquisition programs will focus on:
AGRICULTURE
This program will focus on teaching the practices of conservation agriculture and the pfumvudza model. Needing only local hoes, and a simple wire measuring system for planting straight, evenly-spaced rows for high-standard farming and maximum yield, it will provide empowerment to the students and their families by providing a tangible and sustainable means of food security, with a very low-capital, initial investment.
COMPUTER LITERACY AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SKILLS
This program will involve minimal start-up and materials costs and will offer clear and immediate opportunities for our empowerment program – paying students to provide a service based on their job skills rather than just giving them a handout.
